The NewME Accelerator program starts on June 16th, 2011 and lasts 9 weeks concluding on August 18th, 2011. The program is unique as it combines quality start-ups from around the country with local Bay Area start-ups in one accelerator program. Specifically this is what the program consists of:
7 Visiting Minority-led Start-ups
Seven start-ups from across the country will spend the summer with us building and learning. Five of the seven start-ups have been hand picked and 2 additional start-ups will be selected from a pool of applicants. If you’re interested you can pitch us your start-up. If you’re one of the lucky seven you’ll be bunked up with us in a house in Mountain View for the summer where we’ll spend 24 hours a day sleeping, eating, and drinking our start-ups. Still interested? APPLY!
+ Local Minority-led Start-ups
We are excited to extend participation to 10 local minority-led start-ups as well. These start-ups won’t be live-in but have the opportunity to participate in the weekly dinners, mentorship, and Demo Day. If you’re interested you can pitch us your start-up.
+ Private weekly dinners
Some of the industry’s elite will participate in private weekly dinners where Founders and Speakers will break bread over conversations about what it really takes to build a successful start-up. Topics of conversation will be around…
+ Mentorship
Founders will get to tap some of the brightest minds in the Valley and work with them one-on-one on specific issues they may encounter.
+ Co-working Environment
Participating start-ups have the flexibility of working out of our base in Mountain View or working out of the ever cool Citizen Space in SoMA.
AND Demo Day
After spending the summer nit-picking over design, code, and the many ingredients that go into building an awesome product the program will conclude with a demo day where participating start-ups will get to show their wares to angle investors, VC’s, and many others from the start-up community.
